Broad-based generalities aren’t helpful, as regulation and enforcement vary according to location and changes in the law. The concept of brownfields, which focuses on the reuse of properties, and the increasing importance of smart growth combined with LEED certification are only positive steps in the redevelopment of industrial sites.
